We had a great experience with the flight back to Toronto and crew were awesome.
The sprawling city of Kitchener in Southern Ontario has something for everyone, offering an eclectic mix of arts, culture and heritage. Despite its size, the city’s many natural beauty spots allow visitors to enjoy a few quiet moments away from the fast pace of city life. Situated in the heart of Kitchener, Victoria Park is the number one destination for residents and visitors looking for a tranquil spot for a picnic or an outdoor space to enjoy recreational activities. The park is home to a number of features, including a cannon and a bronze statue of Queen Victoria, and hosts several events throughout the year. Alternatively, a visit to Rockway Gardens is a pleasant place to spend a few hours, surrounded by colourful flower beds and fountains. If you want to take in some of the local scenery, then Kitchener offers a number of trails and paths, along which visitors can walk, jog or cycle. The Iron Horse Trail connects the city’s central area with the neighbouring city of Waterloo by a 3-mile (4.8 km) path. You can also enjoy a stroll along the Grand River, which snakes its way through the city to the spectacular falls at Elora in the north. Visitors with an interest in the region’s heritage will enjoy a trip to Castle Kilbride, located in the nearby town of Baden. This restored historic building can be explored to get a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of its Victorian occupants, the family of businessman James Livingstone. Further to the south of the city, you can visit the Doon Heritage Village, a living history village portraying life in 1914. When you have finished exploring the city’s many delights, it’s only a short one hour drive to the east to see Toronto and Niagara Falls.
The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is a 20-minute drive from Kitchener. Several car rental companies can be found within the terminal building and various licensed taxi and limousine companies can be booked to transfer from the airport into the city.
